Spider rules
Goal and opening deal
The game uses 104 cards. The first four columns get six cards each and the other six columns get five, with only the last card of each column face up. The remaining 50 cards are dealt ten at a time, five times. You win when you complete eight runs of the same suit from K down to A.
Moving cards
Any card can go under a card one rank higher, whatever its suit. A run that moves together must be in descending order and all the same suit. Any card or movable run can go into an empty column. When moving cards uncovers a face-down card, it turns over automatically.
Dealing and completing runs
You can't deal new cards while any column is empty. A complete same-suit run from K to A is removed from its column automatically. Deals and completed runs can be undone too.
Score and time
You start with 500 points, lose 1 point for each move on the current path and gain 100 points for each completed run. Undoing a move restores its points. The clock starts with your first move and stops while the game is paused, the tab is hidden or the solver is searching.
Verified deals and the solver
A verified deal has a confirmed winning line from its opening position. That doesn't mean any sequence of moves will win. Checking your current path never changes the board. When the search limit is reached, the result is shown as unknown.
